Seven PRSA Anvil Awards for Exponent PR


MINNEAPOLIS (June 10, 2005) — Exponent Public Relations won seven Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) during the annual awards show in New York on June 9.

The Anvil Awards are presented by PRSA and represent the very best of public relations work completed in 2004, as judged by industry peers at this national competition.

One Silver Anvil and one Silver Anvil Award of Excellence was awarded to Exponent PR on behalf of work for client Novartis Animal Health's prescription medicine for canine osteoarthritis and represent best-in-class work for a program or campaign. Exponent's campaign garnered awards in two categories, Integrated Communications and Marketing Consumer Products, Healthcare. The Just Ask campaign used more than 3,000 photos and testimonials from dog owners across the country to create giant photo mosaics that appeared in New York City's Times Square and other cities. The campaign also included grassroots marketing and nationwide media relations to help encourage veterinary care for dogs suffering from arthritis pain.

A Bronze Anvil, honoring outstanding public relations tactics to support an overall campaign, was awarded to the agency and Novartis Animal Health for a multimedia educational game show for veterinary technicians about canine arthritis. Bronze Anvil Awards of Commendation were given for work conducted on behalf of the North American Olive Oil Association for an electronic media kit; Nestlé Purina for a mobile marketing approach and a quarterly publication; and Novartis Animal Health US, Inc. for a television public service announcement.

The Anvil Awards are presented annually to public relations practitioners and agencies who, in the judgment of their peers, have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. The Silver Anvil recognizes the strategic nature of programs and campaigns, taking into account sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. The Bronze Anvil recognizes outstanding public relations tactics that contribute to the success of an overall program or campaign.
