On a personal note: Years ago, when he covered sour real estate deals as a newspaper reporter, Bob realized the importance of enlisting all stakeholders to help resolve a corporate or government crisis.

As the director of Exponent's public affairs discipline and its chief strategic and crisis consultant, Bob has helped CEOs, elected officials and management teams advance their vision by ensuring they are not distracted from their ultimate goal by a debilitating crisis.

Product recalls and withdrawals, product safety questions, drug diversion, health care fraud, and network news and Congressional investigations are just a few of the crises that Bob has helped resolve over his 20-year career.

In potentially career-limiting circumstances such as these, senior executives have worked closely with Bob to develop strategies that are mindful of audience expectations, demonstrate responsiveness and put the crisis behind them as quickly as possible.

Nevertheless, Bob prefers to explain what he does in simple terms, saying, "So much of what we do here is seeing dots and connecting dots."
